Assyrian art
The most important samples of the art of the Assyrians are the sculptures of the royal palaces (883-612 BC). Important place among these sculptures are held by colossal size and winged bulls and lions that flanked the doors of the palace, as well as a number of stone and narrative reliefs that decorated the walls and exploits of the armies of the king or celebrations of victorious battles, but the relaxation of a hunting assigned all with unparalleled and stylistic vitality. Are also saved valuable samples of decoration in ivory, in which is distinguished the influence of the Phoenicians.
