Lubok
Type of Russian woodcut of the 17th century, something similar to the books with ballads, stories, etc. which are sold by street vendors. Initially, it was contained by only religious themes, but slowly its content expanded to include not only political issues but just songs and dances. The "primitivism" of Larionov and Gontcharova (e.g. in the sets and costumes for the Bird of Fire) is clearly influenced by this type of folk art.
