Armony Show
International exhibition of about 1,100 modern works which took place in the hall of the armory of the 69th Constitution, in New York, from February 17 to March 15, 1913. It was the first time that the public of United States came into contact with the work of Fauvists, Cubist and other (mainly from Paris) innovative artists of that time, and the consequences of this event have been enormous for the American art and criticism. The exhibition, organized by the Association of American Painters and Sculptors and supported by The Eight, then moved to the Art Institute of Chicago.
