Special Information for the Artist
Skopas is his first schoolteacher in the art. In 1876 he was studying Law in Aix-en-Provence of France for one year, at the same time he attended courses of drawing in nightly faculty. In 1877 he left to Paris, finished school of law and started lessons in the Academy of Kollarossi in order to continue his studies of painting. Alongside with painting he also studies engraving without taking it so seriously and when he returned back in Athens later, he worked as an artistic collaborator at magazine ‘Asti’ as well as at ‘newspaper Akropoilis’. He also worked as a conserver for National Art gallery’s works. His painting moves in the frame of impressionism.
