Athens 1882 - Paris 1966
Painter and engraver. He abandoned his studies in mechanical engineering and continued at the Athens School of Fine Art, where he studied painting under N. Lytras. In 1900 he went to Paris where he continued sending his sketches to magazines, as he begun doing in Athens. He acquired French citizenship and in 1944 was appointed professor at the Ecole des Beaux Art in Paris, where he worked until 1952. In 1945 he was elected member of the French Academy.
