Painter and engraver who began studying under the Greek-Russian painter N. Petridis in 1923, when his family returned to Greece. He continued at the School of Fine Arts in Athens under Parthenis. In his most characteristic works, he combines expressionist forms with a critical disposition, and realistic elements with linear features. His painting generally moves within the field of social criticism and is noted for its visual passion and inner truth.
