Thessaloniki, Commercial Club, 1935, no 42.
Athens, Asylo Technis, 1936, no 42.

After studying under Nicholaos Lytras and Giorgios Jakobides in Athens, Regos left for Paris in 1930 where he enrolled in the Grande Chaumière and Colarossi. He also worked closely with Dimitris Galanis until 1935 when he settled in Thessaloniki. This present early work, depicting the gnarled trunks of olive trees with their shimmering silvery-green foliage, reflects his strong interest in landscapes. The houses on the slope and the solitary dwelling seen in the distance are almost incidental to the composition, where nature - the light filtering through the trees and the rhythm of their branches - serves as the main subject matter.
